Above: Grape plant in its second year, propagated by Aunt Geraldine in Yakima and shared with us last year. We have a total of 4 grapes thriving and one, well, we'll see next year. Below: One of 6 kiwis I salvaged from the local demonstration garden as twigs on the garbage heap. They are doing well.
Six inch bay tree (laurus nobilis). There is nothing like starting one for yourself and seeing results!

I had a BYU professor tell me the most satisfaction you'll find in this life, and the closest you'll ever be to God, is when you're creating. I totally agree, and find starting a garden attractive for that reason.
Keep us posted on the progress.
I had a yellow rose in my front yard that was so fragrant it smelled like licorice. It got the black spot and Bro. Heller said to just get rid of it. so I did.
Is the rose at the top of your blog the rose in your yard?
Yes, it was from my garden, but it's gone now! (The rose, not the bush or the garden.)
